Dear Friends, BARC provides training in two courses and on successful completion of these courses candidates get jobs (BARC Recruitment through GATE 2018) as Scientific Officer ‘C’ in one of the DAE units or Atomic Energy Regulatory Board. These courses are as follow:
- Orientation Course for Engineering Graduates and Science Postgraduates (OCES)
- DAE Graduate Fellowship Scheme for Engineering Graduates and Physics Postgraduates (DGFS)
The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) Computer Based Examination for on the comprehensive understanding of the candidates in various Under Graduate subjects in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture and Post Graduate level subjects in Science. The GATE 2018 score is valid for THREE YEARS from the date of announcement of the results. For more details about GATE 2018 click on the below links:
1. Selection Process for BARC Recruitment through GATE 2018
It is a two-step process
Screening to short-list candidates
(a) On the basis of Online Examination: Online Examination will be conducted in March 2018 in each of the nine Engineering disciplines and five Science disciplines in more than forty cities spread across India.
Travel Allowance is not paid for appearing in it.
Candidates who register for the Online Examination will be able to choose their examination center as well as date and time of the session in which they wish to appear for the Online Examination, subject to availability. Allocation of the slot to candidates for taking the Online Examination will be done on a first come, first served basis.
(b) On the basis of GATE Score: Applicants shortlisted for Interview process on the basis of a valid GATE 2018 score in the applicable GATE subject. Applicants with a degree in ‘Nuclear Engineering’ will be screened in only on the basis of Online Examination to be conducted in March 2018.
Interviews of the short-listed candidates
Selection Interviews of short-listed candidates will be conducted in Mumbai (in all disciplines except Geology and Geophysics) and Hyderabad (in Geology and Geophysics). Outstation applicants will be paid two-way second-class sleeper train fare, from their registered residential address, by shortest route or actual fare whichever is less.
2. BARC Recruitment through GATE 2018: Grade And Pay Scale
Appointment in all the units shall be as a Scientific Officer ‘C’ (SO/C) in the Level 10 – Rs. 56,100/-

*Candidates with B.E. / B.Tech. / B.Sc.(Engg.) / 5-year Integrated M.Tech in ‘Nuclear Engineering’ / ‘Nuclear Technology’ / ‘Nuclear Science & Technology’ would be considered for RSE Training Scheme at the BARC Training School, Mumbai and for ‘Mechanical’ and ‘Chemical’ Training Schemes at the BARC Training Schools in Mumbai, Kalpakkam, and NFC-Hyderabad.

Persons domiciled in Kashmir Division of Jammu & Kashmir State from 01/01/1980 to 31/12/1989 (Dom Kashmir) –31 years,

5. Application Fee BARC Recruitment through GATE 2018
Rs 500/- General and OBC and Women /SC/ST are exempted from payment.
